Peter Woodhall
Marriage of Edwin (Ted) Woodhall to Barbara McNaughton in 1950. The bridesmaid in Patricia Ann Cheshire. The man holding the baby is Ted's brother, Jack Woodhall and the baby is me Peter Woodhall. On Jack's right is his wife Lucy and on his left his brother Bryan. To the right of the groom is Emily Woodhall (nee Bryan), the Mother of the groom. The picture is special as it is only at weddings that so many family members are in one place at the same time for a photo. Family lived in Gravelly Hill and Erdington at the time, although the marriage was registered in Sutton Coldfield. I'm not sure of the church.

Graham Knight
The White family moved to West Heath in 1953-1956 from Ladywood having first moved to Birmingham from South Warwickshire, where they were farmers, in the 1860s. In 1948 Ruby White (3rd from left back row) married Leonard Knight (taking the photo thus not in it), whose family had been agricultural workers in Suffolk since Anglo Saxon times. They moved to Turves Green in 1953, 3 months after the birth of their son, Graham, who is shown being held by Stan Ogidel. Stan was originally from Poland and settled in Birmingham after World War 2 with his his wife, Pearl, who was Ruby’s twin. The twins were children of Dick and Josie White, 2nd and 3rd from right, as was Dick, their eldest son (at right) and Joan (2nd from left). To Ruby’s left is Rose Page, Dick Jr’s 1st wife. The two older boys are Roger and Graham Hurcombe, sons of Ruby and Len’s next door neighbours.

This is a picture from my Grandparent's wedding on 2nd Oct 1915 at St Oswalds Church, Small Heath, Birmingham.
My grandfather (the groom) was born in 1888, Stamford Road, Handsworth, with my grandmother (the bride) being born in 1892, Denbigh Street, Small Heath. The lady in the hat (next to the groom) is my great-grandmother who had three children out of wedlock before 1900, my grandfather being one of them. Next to my great-grandmother is the bride's brother (born 1882). Next to the bride is the groom's sister, born in 1898, Westminster Road, Handsworth - also one of the illegitimate children. Next to the groom's sister is the bride's father, born in 1857, Leicester. By the time of the wedding it is said that the other illegitimate child, born 1886, Ladywood Road, Birmingham had found out he was illegitimate and emigrated to Canada in 1912, so missed the wedding. I do not know who the four children at the front are.
