This is my favourite photo of my late parents Iran and Joyce. Dad was born in Portland Jamaica and came to England in January 1954 and met the love of his life, our wonderful mother Joyce, who was born in Saltley, Birmingham. They met at work at the Co-Op Meat Depot, Albert Street, Birmingham at the Christmas works do. They had their first kiss under the mistletoe. Dad and Mom didn't have much money but this photo was taken for a special reason: to sent to Jamaica so Dad's mother could have a photo of her son and his family. This photo was taken in 1957 as Dad's mother Adina in Jamaica requested a photo of her son Iran, wife Joyce and her two Grandsons. Sadly Adina never had the chance to meet her Grandchildren so this photo was important and stayed on her wall in Jamaica till her sad passing. I'm not in the photo as I wasn't born then! The couple went on to have a total of five children.

I didn't have many photos of my paternal grandparents, whom I couldn't meet because they died in 1969, but one day talking to one of my aunts, she showed me a photo album that I didn't know existed. In this album I found this image. I think it is one of the most beautiful portraits of my paternal family.
From the left we can see in the photo my grandmother Adelaida Rivera Pérez carrying my uncle Gustavo. Then we see my aunts Hayde and María Elena together with my father Roberto. And finally my grandfather Guillermo Olazo Villena appears.
1966, This portrait was taken in the house where my grandfather worked as a gardener in the Chosica district of Lima, Peru

This was taken the day of my sister’s first communion. There are not many generations in this one shot but it means a lot to me as four of these people are no longer with us. Some left long ago and some much more recently. I miss them all every day.
My sister and I are both in pink, I'm the little one at the front and Monica is behind me. The adults are: My uncle Angel (deceased), his daughter Merche, my Father Jose Antonio (deceased), his sister Angela (deceased), my Mother Itziar, my cousin Inma (deceased) and her then boyfriend Ladislao.
