MID-LANDS is a group exhibition of practicing artists currently living in the Midlands that were born outside of the UK; exploring themes of their origin, culture, home and language.

A film documentary plays alongside the exhibition consisting of interviews with each artist; asking such questions as: Why did they move to the Midlands? How do artist opportunities differ here from their country? How did you find the transition from one culture to another?

The film piece, edited by Karolina Korupczynska, enables the viewer to understand the artist’s work, and their differing experiences, reasons and accents echo throughout the space.

MID-LANDS is curated by Emma Leppington and Claire Reece.
